Prof. Roshan das Nair

Roshan das Nair is a Senior Research Scientist at SINTEF (Norway) and Professor of Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology at the University of Nottingham (UK). After qualifying as a clinical psychologist from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in Bangalore (India), he obtained his PhD from the University of Nottingham. Prof das Nair has previously worked as a Lecturer at the University of Zambia, and as Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Prof das Nair’s research focuses on applying psychological and neuropsychological science to better understand and treat psychological issues related to neurological conditions. His clinical trials have evaluated complex interventions in multiple sclerosis (MS), stroke, and traumatic brain injuries. Given the economic and human resource issues that most healthcare systems are facing, Prof das Nair has a specific interest in developing interventions that can be delivered within such constraints, e.g., through use of digital technologies and delivery workforce diversification. One such example is the NEuRoMS project (www.neuroms.org) that he leads, which is a resource-efficient cognitive screening and rehabilitation intervention for people with MS.
